Terrible Things by Beth Bolden

5.0

This may be my favourite Beth Bolden so far. I have a thing for angsty and troubled characters, and these boys meet the mark!

I wasn’t sure about Caleb, he left with no word for five years and then just strolled back in like nothing happened demanding they go back on tour. I get why he left and I felt for the boy who struggled with addiction mixed with fame and terrible management, but his lack of apology didn’t sit well.

Maybe I was just being protective of Leo. Crushed by being left behind. Unable to continue with the band. His pain is palpable the whole way through. But also his deep deep love for Caleb. And in the end, of course, Caleb worms his way into your heart.

Their bandmates were also wonderful people who I look forward to getting their own stories. They endeared me and I especially loved the way they all pulled together to take control of their careers this time around.
