In the follow-up to Belladonna, Signa must deal with the developments when someone new comes to Thorn Grove and a new murder forces her to put her crime-solving skills to the test.
A lot of second books tend to suffer from a sequel slump, but this one absolutely did NOT. I loved Foxglove from start to finish, and ultimately even preferred it to Belladonna. There isn’t a ton I can say about the plot without spoiling one or both books, but a certain new character is EVERYTHING to me, and I adored seeing a different character flourish and getting to read her POV.
I did guess the major twists, but for me that is part of the joy—Adalyn Grace does such a good job of laying the right amount of breadcrumbs so you can guess at an outcome without feeling like anything is too obvious. This one also ended up EXACTLY how I wanted it to, and did a perfect job setting up book three. I know it’s a full year away, but I already cannot wait for Wisteria!
Recommended to anyone, but especially if you like: morally grey love interests, Bridgerton but make it a murder mystery, baby foxes who are total scene stealers
CW: Death/murder/blood; mentions of child death; grief
