Never before have I even wondered if Einstein was married, so I was surprised to learn that he divorced his first wife, a fellow scientist. This is another story about a great man who belittles his wife. And most of it is factual. It’s a really sad story.
As with the other Benedict novels I’ve read, this goes on too long and draws out the painful ending. At the 75% mark, I was getting really antsy to get the story over with and was considering skipping forward. I stuck with it all, but it really need a good editing down of 100 pages.
However, it was enlightening to learn about such a smart and determined woman in an era when that wasn’t at all welcomed.
