The Cost of Courage by Charles Kaiser

5.0

I absolutely devoured this book. After hearing Kaiser give a reading and field questions from the audience, I was hooked. I enjoyed his voice, and though he has an unabashed (and readily admitted) Boulloche bias, given his relationship with the family, I did appreciate the perspective on the French Resistance. The French perspective on World War II is not the angle through which I typically pursue understanding of the events, but I am glad for this book, and I am glad for this manifestation of 'oral history' turned memoir.
