An incredibly well written memoir. McCurdy’s childhood experiences are heartbreaking, but she writes with such dry wit and humor that I never got lost in the trauma. Her openness around her eating disorders is staggeringly vulnerable; I am in absolute awe of her strength.
Graphic: Body shaming, Child abuse, Eating disorder, Emotional abuse, Mental illness, Panic attacks/disorders, Physical abuse, Self harm, Toxic relationship, Vomit, and Gaslighting
Moderate: Alcoholism, Cancer, Medical trauma, Death of parent, and Alcohol
Minor: Adult/minor relationship and Stalking
