The Dead by Paul Kane

5.0

Three short stories all interlinked to tell a whole story. I am not going to say much as I don't want to give much away. Each story comes from the perspective of a character who was affected by the fatal event on New Year's Eve.
Dead Time: is Helen Kirby's story. At the start of the event, she was a secondary school teacher. Recovering from a hangover, you follow her as she describes what is happening on New Year's Day.
Dead Reckoning: is David Hawthorne's story on what happened to him on New Year's Eve. As a University Lecturer, he had brains rather than brawn, but is that enough to survive.
Dead End: Carl Maxwell is a lone security guard on duty in the shopping mall on New Year's Eve. Trying to do his family proud, he is on a personal mission to get revenge.
I own every book in the Black Shuck Shadows series and I have never been disappointed with any of the stories. The Dead has gone straight to the top of this series as I loved it.
If you are looking for a quick read to give you your horror fix than you cannot go wrong with this book. I would love for this story to continue so I can find out what happens to others.
