Adventure Time: Beginning of the End by Ted Anderson, Marina Julia, Victoria Maderna, Pendleton Ward

5.0

This one-shot volume is an unexpected therapeutic entry in the ever expanding universe of Adventure Time comics. What I love the most about this volume is how it brings to the forefront some of the recurring themes of the show (time, friendship, heroism, and life) to provide an entertaining, deep, and necessary story. As Finn faces the possible threat of being erased from time for breaking an oath, he has an opportunity to look at his past, and possible futures, while his friends scramble to somehow save him from oblivion. Many of the ideas presented here hit very close to home, and moved me. That's the beauty of the Adventure Time universe, in its multiple media: it always has a message that might just help you in times of need. I highly recommend you read this when going through an existential crisis.
