Birdie is in 2nd grade. She loves to craft and has an alter ego that no one can see called Crafty Cat. Crafty cat has helped Birdie get out of embarrassing and other difficult situations in the past and will need to again when Birdie and best friend Evan go to craft camp at school.
Second in the series but stands alone just fine. At the back of the book are directions for making all the crafts that were shown throughout the story. Students in grades K-3 will definitely be able to relate to the characters and situations. Colors are muted browns, greens, blues, and yellows. Illustrations are clear and visually interesting. Their simplicity is a perfect match for the intended audience.
