Gotham Academy Vol. 1: Welcome to Gotham Academy (the New 52) by Becky Cloonan, Brenden Fletcher

4.0

a ya dark academia comic book sign me up.

I read the first 5 issues of this series back in 2014, so this a bit of a throwback read. I have all three volumes now so I'm excited to finally complete the series, and then maybe pick up the follow up series [b:Gotham Academy: Second Semester (2016-2017) (Collections)|40858597|Gotham Academy Second Semester (2016-2017) (Collections) (2 Book Series)|Brenden Fletcher|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1531864612l/40858597._SX50_.jpg|63639960].

Gotham Academy, Volume 1: Welcome to Gotham Academy follows Olive and her friends at Gotham Academy, with a cameo from Batman himself. The Academy, and Olive herself, have some dark secrets that are uncovered throughout this volume.

The friendship group perfect. They're a proper scooby gang.

I loved the artwork. The mix of gothic architecture with modern character styles worked well, and enhanced the dark academia atmosphere.
