Mixed feelings about this book. While it offered a gripping thriller, the experience could have been enhanced had the author trimmed repetitive phrases and scenes, resulting in a more streamlined narrative. There were moments when the excitement waned, and the pacing felt sluggish, making reading somewhat boring. On the positive side, the plot twists were engaging, and certain graphic scenes, though unexpected, lent a realistic dimension to the suffering portrayed. Overall, the book featured a strong plot with unforeseen twists; however, intermittent sluggishness led to a somewhat diminished reading experience.

Interestingly, I found the book more enjoyable than its movie adaptation.
