I am so glad I gave this a try. This is the first manga I’ve read that I felt captivated by. Shirahama-sensei’s worldbuilding is impeccable, the landscapes, buildings, clothing, language, and magic properties are fascinating and detailed. I love the characters, they all have strong personalities and designs. Coco is such a fun protagonist and I can’t wait to see more of her story. The art is absolutely stunning, the texturing is so masterful the pages come to life. The compositions add great tone to the story, I love how subtle yet impactful the art is in weaving the undertones of the story. This is the perfect story for me, as I love magic, adventure, fantasy, and stories that are lighthearted and coated with great emotional depth. The story progresses at a solid pace with so much to love. I look forward to reading more!
Graphic: Death and Death of parent
Moderate: Grief
Death: the death is left ambiguous, with hope of saving the person. However they were clearly harmed and it’s potentially irreversible.
