Stillhouse Lake by Rachel Caine
5.0
5 stars! Finally a 5 star read!

I loved everything about this book from the Prologue until the very last page.
I kept saying as I was reading, "As long as she doesn't mess up the ending this will be a 5 star book."
And Rachel Caine did not mess up the ending.
This book took me for A RIDE. I didn't know who to trust so I felt like Gwen shouldn't have trusted anyone. And even though I read Stillhouse Lake with my guard up the entire time there were still moments that caught me by surprise, especially the very last page.
I love how Rachel Caine put us inside Gwen's mind so we could truly understand the constant fear she had to live with.
And I was not prepared for the emotional turn this story took for me.
I was in tears at one point and this is also around the time that the story kicked into high gear.
Talk about on the edge of your seat!
At the height of the suspense of this novel I said,
"I'm going to throw up." It was that intense for me and I loved it!
This was everything for me and I can't wait to read book #2.
I'm just so sorry to hear that Rachel Caine/Roxanne Longstreet Conrad passed away at the beginning of this month. Such a talented writer. She will definitely be missed.
