Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction by J.D. Salinger

5.0

I have a persistent reverence for all of Salinger’s Glass family short stories. Always colloquial and often funny while still being what I feel is a literary masterpiece. The characters all have some quirk about them that deeply resonates with me. Salinger has a way of comforting me by poetically expressing a discomfort I hoped I wasn’t alone in feeling.
