The first half of the book was amazing, as a person who firmly doesn't want to live forever it was neat to see other reasons for not wanting it than what I think of (political, economic, etc., stuff you wouldn't normally think of when someone asks if you'd like to live forever). Then the second half starts. I will say I enjoyed the whole "end specialist" part of the book; that was all ruined by the Solara part. I cannot for the life of me understand why the author decided to give John and Solara an instant romance. He has been searching for her for 50+ years and within one conversation he decides he is in love with her and will save her. That is just nonsense.
It did take me a while to read this book just because of busy life but it's a pretty quick read with a cool concept, just fell majorly short in the second half. I'd like to read more by this author because I do like the writing style.
