super underdeveloped and disappointing for the writing quality and concept. the ending felt so rushed for what was a drawn-out atmospheric build-up and the character resolutions were inconsistent and inconsequential. the ending also was incredibly out of place with how detailed the majority of the book was and the presence of the dark watchers was random and too short to have been the main antagonists.
