My Gal Sunday by Mary Higgins Clark

3.0

Type of read: Weekend/Lunchtime Read.

What made me pick it up: I picked up this paperback at our local discount book store in the bargain bin. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Mary Higgins Clark and it just had to come home with me.

Overall rating: For some reason, when purchasing this book, I completely spaced on the fact that this wasn't one long read, but rather a series of short stories following the same characters - Sunday and Henry - through a few different seasons and adventures of their lives. That being said, I always enjoy Mary Higgins Clark's books. They are clear, concise, have a bit of wit, and don't take up too much brain power (I seriously mean that in the best way possible). 'My Gal Sunday' was the perfect purse book and at $0.50 from the bargain bin, I couldn't leave this one on the shelf. Higgins Clark is my go-to for travel/relaxation reads and almost as a palate cleanser after strenuous reads or a lengthy series. Definitely not disappointed that I added this one to my collection.
