Mrs. Sherlock Holmes: The True Story of New York City's Greatest Female Detective and the 1917 Missing Girl Case That C... by Brad Ricca

dark informative mysterious tense slow-paced

3.0

I really wanted to like this book! I was so excited by the concept of it, but the story I came for got lost.  It was also hard to follow from the past to present day and especially after they found Ruth. Perhaps the most upsetting part was the fact that this was a true story and all the shitty things Grace had to fight against because people and society sucked at that point. And I think it was just so disheartening that Grace who was such a prominent figure in solving the case of Ruth and countless others could simply fade from existence. I know that I didn't have a clue of who she was, but I am thankful that I got to learn her story!
