The Villain is gone, her father is evil, and Evie is well I will let you read about it..
In this follow up to the Assistant to the Villain, we get more romantic tension between The Villain and Evie, and greater insight into the supporting characters who work for the Villain as they do their best to stop magic from dying in Rennedawn. Their journey takes them through their pasts, their pain, and glimpsing into their future as the Villain tries to do some good.
While not as good as the first book, I really enjoyed this read. It was still fun and lighthearted, but with a few more deep concepts, especially around Evie. I love Lyssa getting more time on page and my only complaints are that the same troupe happened over and over again while the plot didn't move much during the book. However, I didn't really care because the comedy was excellent!
I enjoyed this book enough I am still looking forward to book 3.
