The premise is cute, but feels cheesy and redundant at times. I typically love YA, but this one definitely feels like it would be more appreciated by a younger audience. The writing felt juvenile and repetitive, and I had a hard time pushing through. I skipped several chapters in the middle because the story seemed to drag. Theres soooooo much dialogue (inner and between characters) that it feels like there’s hardly any actual plot. I also found the characters’ inner thoughts and conversations too mature to be believable teenagers. I think my 13 year-old self would have gushed over this book, but 23 year-old me was struggling to finish it.
