Maggie is getting ready to graduate. The only thing better would be if her dad returned to the living. Her mother walked out on them, and ever since, her father’s been a zombie, barely noticing that Maggie’s there. He even doesn’t clap or take pictures at her graduation.

One day, Maggie is on her way back home when she saves a guy from a truck that about hit him. The guy is Caleb. She later finds out that he his Kyle Jacobson’s cousin…and that Caleb is her imprint and vice versa. Kyle has been asking Maggie for a while to go out with him, and is supposed to go out with Kyle the day she imprints with Caleb.
Since imprinting is new for them both and Maggie’s a human, the side-effects of being a part are worse than normal.

Kyle convinces Caleb to let him go out with Maggie still. On their date, they run into Marcus, another Ace. Marcus will later provide trouble for Caleb and Maggie….as well as both of their families.

I always love insta-connections, and I love that Shelly uses imprinting for soul mates. I absolutely love Caleb. However, I felt so bad for Kyle. He waited for years to get Maggie to go out with him, and she ends up imprinting with his cousin. There are times he takes this poorly, but I think it’s understandable. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Maggie and Caleb.
