Although I liked the idea of Brand New Ancients, this kind of poetry is not my thing. I wish the whole poem rhymed more or didn't have any rhyming at all, and I couldn't bring myself to care for the characters in this.

The ending also left a bad taste in my mouth. He hooks up with a Thai girl and his pension becomes a fortune? Unnecessary way to end things, honestly.
