Overthinking About You: Dating with Anxiety, OCD, and Depression by Allison Raskin

funny hopeful informative inspiring reflective medium-paced

5.0

As expected from Allison, this was a very thoughtfully made book. Allison is in school herself but pulls in a good number of experts to discuss that chapter’s topic. Also, Allison does a great job of considering experiences outside her own and uses gender neutral language unless specification is necessary (e.g., when discussing men’s relationships to mental health help). Even in conversation with contributors, Allison caveats text to be more inclusive or to show how people experience things differently. I appreciate her transparency and accountability, using her past experiences to provide examples and to show how a person can grow with time and help. The design of this book is beautiful and easy to read, from the fonts to the cute blue bullet points to the white space and spacing. I really appreciated the bullet points to sum up chapters’ main ideas. Overall, a fantastic read. Keep up the good work, Allison!! You’re doing great!
