Death Doesn't Bargain by Sherrilyn Kenyon
1.0
I don't know why I kept going with this series--probably because I'm a long-time fan of Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. But the quality of writing and the storytelling is so deeply removed from the writer I've loved for so long. The depth of characters is lacking and the story arc similarly lacks detail and development. Even the characters that crop up from the original series like Savitar or Acheron lack any of trademark qualities you would expect if you're a fan of the larger world--they're pale imitations and it's painful to read. Each chapter begins with these god-awful graphics that look like bad clipart and don't inform the story enough to justify their presence. The poor graphics are just another symptom of how far off this series is from the quality you would expect from Kenyon.
