Having re read this for the second time I may love this book even more than I did before. This book has me questions my own feelings and beliefs as I have spent so much time being so angry towards Nesta and she has said and done so many awful hurtful things, yet by the end of this book I have so much warmth towards her, but I will say it took me a while to develop that warmth and empathy towards her. A Court of Silver Flames is not just the love story of Nesta and Cassian, it is mainly the story of Nesta falling in love with life again, this deals with strong themes such as trauma and abuse, and we see a group of women come together to support each other through that. The Valkyries are my favourite part of this story, their journey and their final trial and battle during the blood rite goes to show how much strength they all have, and I really hope we get to see more of them moving forward. I’m a big fan of Azriel and Gwyn alongside Mor and Emerie so we best have their stories at some point in the future! There is such much plot within this book that it goes by so fast, even tonight it is a long book, the action never stops. There are many points within here that feed into the theory of Pyrthian being Erilea just thousands of years later, and I’m really not sure how I feel about that as my hear needs the inner circle and TOG cast all together, that banter would be like nothing else! I know there is still so much more to come from the world and I cannot wait to see where it goes. I love the relationships between them all and the lore and stories that we follow along the way. I’m sure the dread trove will have a larger part to play in the future. I also enjoy the level of spice within this book, whilst previous books are spicy I feel like ACOSF takes it up a notch. However I do feel it is necessary within this story and plays a pivotal role in Nesta and Cassian’s relationship. I love Nesta’s relationship with the house and the library and how this grows throughout the book, showing how Nesta needed comfort and friendships but wasn’t quite ready to face it in the physical form. So the house provided it for her. There is so much pain within this story, but there is also beauty, and love and life, as we follows Nesta’s battle of self haterd and how she overcomes this. Sarah J Maas has done a spectacular job on creating a world that leaves you desperate for more, so many small intricacies and crossovers that leave you question what you already know.
