Oh my goodness!! That was not what I was expecting going into this book but what a glorious ride. I am obsessed! This is exactly my kind of sci-fi! Love when science fiction explores questions of identity, what it means to be human, and the personhood of individuals outside what people think of as human! Typically, I gravitate towards books that use artificial intelligence to explore the topic (big fan of OS as the antagonist) but turns out using clones is just as good! And my god when part 2 started! My jaw was on the floor and my brain was going a million miles a minute. And the way the little changes left by previous clones kept compounding to result in different outcomes for each “generation?” Love it! This book is riveting and at times heartbreaking. Easily one of my favorite reads this year.
