Just One Year by Gayle Forman

5.0

"It was just one day, and it's been just one year.
Maybe one day is enough. Maybe one hour is enough.
Maybe time has nothing at all to do with it."

In just One Day, you'll see the doubts and risks of Allyson.
This time, you'll see all the realizations from Willem. How a girl and a day transformed him, from a runner to chaser, into finding a stranger for one whole year.. only to find himself, know himself and to make bonds and ties to everyone that matters.

I like how the character of Willem changes here, every once in while I keep on losing patience on wether or not he is going to find Allyson or "Lulu" as he know her. But after going on.. I realized it is not about finding the girl anymore. This time, it's a story of finding thyself.. the positive flip-side of being free, of being care-free, happy go lucky. This book will make a different meaning for being lost and being found. It is finding the connection with the lost ones, getting in touch with your mother - understanding her, knowing her past, knowing her patience - understanding her flaws.

It's good to be free, but it is better to keep your feet planted on the ground. Spend your days rooting for your family, going back to old friends, creating new ones. Knowing yourself, striving passion.

This is a journey for Willem, a journey of self-discovery, of re-connection and commitment.

5 Stars,
You will love Willem more! (except when you are a feminist, for the phase where in he is a stud, just fooling around, breaking hearts)
