Cryoburn, by Lois McMaster Bujold

4.0

The cryogenic corporations of Kibou-danini, facing a mature market, are looking to expand to Komarr. Miles, as Lord Auditor, is dispatched to investigate some fishy proposals, and naturally, discovers a web of conspiracy and corruption.

The long anticipated new Miles book! I tried so hard to read this book slowly to savor it, since who knows if there will be another. Clearly, I did not succeed. It wasn't even the sort of story that had to be voraciously devoured because it was impossible to put down. If anything, it was action-lite for a Miles book. Instead, the pages just melted away. It was just so warm and fuzzy to read anything about these characters again. I was really amused that everyone kept commenting how hyper/insane Miles was since in comparison to his younger days, he's really mellowed! The plot, writing, characters were excellent as always.
