Marrow by Tarryn Fisher
5.0
Wow.
That was an amazing read that blew my mind away and made me realize that maybe I have a bit of Margo in my marrow as well. I want to right the wrongs of society, just not sure I want to do it with a pink Zippo. This story is about an average young woman who was raised to believe herself to be worth less than nothing. But when she's alone, finally, she realizes not only does she have more worth than she was brought up to believe, she has more strength. Perhaps too much because it soon grows out of control.
At the end of the book, Fisher explains what brought out Margo, it was a story and video of a woman beating a baby and because she felt so helpless, Fisher sat down and wrote out how she would deal with something like that with no repercussions. It was dark, twisted, and full of her own brand of justice and it was fiction. Until Margo was borne out of those words and then a serial vigilante was born.
I'm still a bit confused on the existence of a major character so I'm sure I'll re-read, which isn't something I usually do. But other than that, I loved "Marrow" as much as I loved the "Love me with lies" series. Can't wait to read "F*ck Love" and "Mud Vein". I found her through the "Never Never" series and love her quips with Colleen Hoover on FB and Instagram.
