Outré by D. Harlan Wilson

I was lucky enough to be given an ARC of this novel and Outre’ is hands down unlike anything I’ve ever read before. When people say Wilson writes in his own language and genre, they mean it.

While I enjoyed the humorous bits and the bizarre nature of the story, I had an extremely difficult time following along with what was actually happening. This doesn’t mean it was a bad book by any stretch of the imagination, it just means this wasn’t written for me.
If you enjoy bizarro science fiction mixed with dark humor, this may be a perfect read for you. While I found it difficult to follow, that’s more of a reflection on myself than the author. I still see a brilliant mind behind the story and the ideas which pushed the rating up to 4.5 stars (4 for Goodreads).
