Death Note: Black Edition, Vol. 4 by Tsugumi Ohba

3.0

volume 7? spectacular. gut wrenching. had me on the edge of my seat. but after L dies (which i knew was happening, i was just shocked at how little build up there was considering how major he is) it went downhill. volume 8 was just underwhelming bc it was slightly confusing and didn’t have the same plot line as volumes 1-7. i am gonna at least read black edition 5 (volumes 9 & 10) since i already have it, but getting thru volume 8 was like army crawling through a trench. i’m upset bc i think that Light and L had such a good dynamic that propelled the story forward and kept me anxious for the next chapter/volume/page, but i also realize that the story probably wouldn’t have moved and relatively stalemate (haha, get it?). i wanted to like volume 8 but it just didn’t grip me!
