Read Rick Riordan’s review, what he said.
This surprised me! I see why everyone who talks about it loves it. It’s like if someone combined hunger games and uglies and Greek and Roman mythologies and lord of the flies and apparently Enders game though I haven’t read it. Yet somehow it still manages to be original with twists and turns and great, intriguing characters.
For a while I thought this was like a 4 star read and then
“Man cannot be freed by the same injustice that enslaved it”
Ok abolition!
I love any book that focuses on power dynamics and governance, especially after the collapse or in the absence of structured society, but this one really stood out. One of my favorite books this year! Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
