Why oh why oh WHY did I wait so long to read this?! I got this from the library yesterday evening and I stayed up until one am to finish it. I didn't care that I would be dragging at work today. I had to keep reading. I had to know what was going to happen. I could not get to the end fast enough to find out if Sophie and Hunt were going to be okay!

Sophie was a great mix of strength and softness. Hunt was a alpha, bad ass who had me swooning from the first time he was on the page at the graduation party all those years ago. And the two of them together were combustible. The journey to the end was one filled with suspense, romance, super hot sexy times and a plot that kept me guessing until the big reveal. And just when I thought it was over the author threw another curve ball. A realistic one but it was still one that left me crying my eyes out. I was all, "OHMYGOD NOOOOOOOOOO!"

But after catching my breath and continuing (though I do admit I was pacing around the living room at that point, debating whether to continue. Talk about a serious punch to the freakin gut) I was rewarded. I also loved seeing the rest of the I-team and catching up with them. Julian was great and I loved how Sophie wanted desperately to protect both Hunt and Julian, most of the time from each other. Julian was so protective of his wife's best friend, doing everything he could to save her when she needed it and help her when she needed that. Tessa still drove me a little bit nuts though. Sophie reminded me more of Kara (the heroine from the 1st in this series) and I think that's why I connected more with Sophie. Sophie wasn't invincible, but she was strong and knew what she wanted. She was willing to sacrifice a lot to have it too. Even if it was just, as she thought, for a little while.

I could go on and on about this book and the fantastic plot and character development but I won't. Instead, I will just say that this series rocks and I can't wait to read more. Even though #2 wasn't a fave, it was still good. (And Julian made it all worth it in the end). I definitely recommend this series if you are looking for smart, sexy, well researched (in terms of plot) romantic suspense.

Thank you Pamela Clare for making me ball like a baby for Hunt, Sophie, what they went through to be together and for the freaking amazing epilogue. It was beautiful, perfect, and I went to sleep with a smile on my face. I might have to re-read this before I return it to the library. And then go buy myself a copy so I can read it again after that. Yeah, I'm serious. It was that good.
