This book was a huge risk because I bought it in a Hong Kong bookstore where it was shrinkwrapped, and while I feel like I'd heard of Yu Hua I couldn't remember anything about him. It was absolutely worth it and now my only regret is not buying the entire Yu Hua collection like I was considering.
