I'm Afraid of Men by Vivek Shraya

challenging dark hopeful inspiring reflective medium-paced

3.5

I really have to admire and appreciate the places this book goes, like discussing misogyny in gay men and the use of queerness as an excuse, or the sexism perpetuated by women that often goes ignored. I think they are difficult subjects to tackle out of fear of being misinterpreted and accidentally causing more damage to an already targeted minority, but this book presents these topics with such authority and understanding. I'm grateful for this level of intersectionality being represented in feminist spaces, and think this very much deserves more attention.
