This book was a bit slow at times but I did enjoy it, I think that it shows a perspective that I don’t often see. However, you should not start reading this book because you are hoping for something cheerful or uplifting. this book brought up a lot of conflicting emotions, the parents for example. In so many ways I dislike them, mainly the Father, for failing their children. But I also know how much they cared for their children and how hard they tried to provide a good life for them. I was somewhat confused by the ending. Was his brother actually there or was it some sort of hallucination? But I do think the book is well written and is a good example of how in some books there cannot be a happy ending. It would be far less meaningful if it ended any other way.
