Hell yeah! Enjoyed this one much better.
Ivy is an accused witch who's really just an herbalist with basic common hygiene and first aid knowledge with maybe the tiniest smidgen of a power. It felt like she had a whole history and upbringing and life before Korr more than any of the other female MCs in the series. That says a lot given how Poppy and Hazel's stories rely on their past to kinda drive the plot. She's smart, resourceful, and observant, but careful with her heart and trust.
I liked Korr a lot, as I suspected I would. He's quiet, keeps to himself, hardworking, and spends a lot of time alone or traveling. He dislikes living underground, unusual for an orc, and that was a whole interesting thread to the plot. He had his own vulnerabilities and they were more deep-rooted than, say, Vark's recent injury leading to him feeling unworthy and unqualified.
The spice scenes weren't boring and repetitive! They felt intimate, passionate, and like there was genuine care between the two characters. It probably helped that they were hooking up with just the two of them and not publicly. (or at least, there weren't actually people there)

More things I enjoyed:
- Ivy had been married previously! I was curious about that scenario
- Ivy told Korr she didn't want kids right away and he was accepting of that. She also expresses concerns about possible infertility and he was reassuring about that, too:
“I could never be disappointed. If we get babies, that will be wonderful. If we do not, I will cherish you until the day I die. We are enough.”
- Clearly some foreshadowing on Korr's brother Marut finding a mate that's going to be a force to be reckoned with and he'll learn some much needed lessons as well (his story is actually next)
- Ritta, the female orc from book 3, kicks some ass
- We meet Taris, who also kicks ass in her own way and I love that
