Cave of Kryptonite by Steve Korté
3.0
This is a good early chapter book for kids, but only if they are familiar with the Superman story. Otherwise, I think this would confuse them. There are a lot of assumptions going on here. The missile being the color of Lex Luthor's costume. What Kryptonite does, in Superman's world, etc.
And there is nothing wrong with these assumptions. It may well be that even young children know all about Superman, so no introduction, or backstory is necessary to enjoy this book.
However, the book is very, very short. So, just as you get into the story, it is over. And we don't solve the problem with the rocket, or how Kryptonite go into the cave, or anything like that.
If this is part of a series about Superman and Kyrpto, perhaps it makes more sense.
Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
