I really loved it but there were too many twists for me, they were excessive. There were also too many characters that there could have been more done with but nothing that big or planned out happened with them ex: Alucard’s brother, King George IV, Ned Tuttle, Lord Sol-In-Ar, and I’m sure I’m forgetting others. I just remembered one it wasn’t a character but a storyline aka Kell’s parentage . Too many times I thought a character died but really it was just that the writing was confusing. Now one thing I did love was Rhy Rhy has definitely grown throughout the books but wow he really had some incredible personal growth in this one and I liked the way his and Alucard’s relationship was always there throughout the book. There was no need to push it too much onto the reader it was always just there in my mind but also subtly sometimes in the book . OH MY GOSH HOW COULD I FORGET HOLLANDI was so excited to learn more about his past and realize how much of a romantic (in a always hoped his home would be restored to something beautiful kind of way) he was, I wished we would have gotten this information earlier though because it felt rushed . Although I have all these quarrels with the book I was still glued to it the entire time even though it was very stressful and sad at times. Oh and I cried like four times while reading it so yeah it entertained and gripped me.
Moderate: Homophobia
Minor: Self harm, Trafficking, and Abandonment
