Misogynation: The True Scale of Sexism by Laura Bates
This book made me angry and sad but I can’t say that I was really shocked by any of the presented findings and statistics. Almost all of those statistics were repeated multiple times in different chapters due to the fact that this book comprises a collection of short essays previously published in the British newspaper Guardian.
Because of the chapter length and the large number of discussed topics, the author could not go as much into depth as I would have preferred but as an overview of the many sexist issues women in the UK face on a daily basis, the book serves it’s purpose well.
I hope that I will also get to read Everyday Sexism by Laura Bates this year - which has shamefully gathered dust on my shelf for more than two years now.
