“I’m coming to the conclusion now with CHA and even with this country today: the laws they make is not the laws for us, the laws they make are to be exercised on us. Expediently.

One of my biggest fears, you know, is gun rights laws. CHA tenants can’t have a gun in their apartments. The homeowners, they can have these guns. What if the homeowners turn out to be the people like this guy who did the shooting in Aurora, Colorado? How am I supposed to protect myself? Just grab a frying pan and stand beside my front door and hope?” (204)
