Certainly a challenge and perfect for former English majors. I was so impressed by the construction of this and Byatt's ability to write poetry, journals, letters, and scholarly work and seamlessly weave it into the novel. Those skills are at times a detriment to the narrative and character development since it felt a bit unbalanced at times.
