Another Life: On Memory, Language, Love, and the Passage of Time by Theodor Kallifatides
5.0
(Audiobook) Beautiful. I'm not really sure what else to say about this short essay. I did not know Theodor Kallifatides before I stumbled across this title, but now I want to read everything he ever wrote.
Maybe he touched me more deeply because of his reflection on his home country and customs left behind - so much so that even his language was set aside, in favor of the Swedish he wrote in, his new homeland.
In any case, I recommend this extremely poetic reflection on writing, aging, immigrating and caring. Especially in audiobook, masterfully narrated by Kevin Stillwell.
