For a book that has children with vampiric tendencies, this was pretty boring. It definitely focuses more on the family drama and interpersonal relationships of the kids' moms than it does on the actual vampire kids, so if you went into this expecting a thriller with a supernatural twist like I did, you'll be disappointed. The kids' vampirism definitely serves as more of a metaphor about the all-encompassing mother-child relationship than it does as a kind of thrilling element. That aside, the ending was bland and unsatisfying and I feel like the interviews with the children could have been cut out completely without the overall story suffering. I think this author just may not be for me.
