This series came as quite a surprise! Going in not knowing anything about the series and frankly, hadn't even heard of it, I enjoyed it very much!
The second book was much more slow burning. We really got to learn more about the side character and learn more about the world. Although I do feel some things could have been left out to keep this book shorter, I do see why they were part of the story.
The love triangle isn't the main focus and it was executed well. (Even though I don't think the male characters even have a clue that its even a love triangle). Soren is my faaav! I love him as a character. He is strong and down to earth and he suits Theo well.
Overall, this was a great continuation, though I fear it will suffer second book syndrome. Looking forward to the third book coming out in February!!
