Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert
5.0
~NO SPOILER~
Its been a good while since i’ve read such a nicely written novel. I gave Get a Life, Chloe Brown 5 stars, but by the general public, it’s more deserving of a 4.5. If you’re a lover of cute, sappy, and steamy romance then this is the book for you!
“There were no cheerful doodles or colorful squiggles here, because, when she’d designed this particular page, Chloe had meant business. She still meant business.”
Chloe is…indescribable. She’s the character that you meet as if you were to meet a future friend, timid and reluctant but then warm and cute as you get to know them. Chloe’s character is strong and a whole baddie (with a soft heart, of course). I love her development the most in this book. (P.S. women empowerment?? I think yes!!)
“If he were the kind of man who understood animals, he might say this particular Cat was sending him a telepathic message that went something like, Get your dirty pervert eyes off my mum.”
Talia Hibbert is a mastermind at creating characters, and Redford Morgan, aka Red, is one of them. Red is Chloe’s love interest, and the way that Talia introduced him as a character also how she wove him into Chloe’s life was magnificent. I loved the development of his personality and overall being.
Character development is something i’m always worried about in Romance novels, yet Talia checked that right off the list (just like Chloe does). Although this is a lighthearted read and meant to be fluffy, Talia still finds room for hardships and breakdowns. The bluntness in her writing is something not often seen because she’s not scared to explore topics many people would be timid to even dip into. If you have considered reading this, I suggest go ahead, because it’s so hard to put down!
(This review was rushed because I wanted it posted before November ended <3)
