Talk about slow burn but in the best way. I actually really enjoyed this book. The first 15% was a bit of a struggle to get through with all the details and writing BUT it picked up quickly and I enjoyed the journey and relationships. The world building was there, and I actually quite enjoyed that this book dealt more with just the two MC's. I know that future books will include a lot more characters with there being Gods and Kings. This is the groundwork for a great series!

There’s a lot of mystery left and unsolved. I am curious to see where the series goes and I’ll definitely be reading the rest!
