One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

“Can a man who's warm understand one who's freezing?”

I haven't read any russian literature, mostly because I feel like I miss out on a lot of historical context. I could read more on the history of the region but that is an intimidating task. This book though, this book! It made me eat my food slowly and cherish each bit for the nourishment it gives. It made me shiver while I was sitting indoors. Solzhenitsyn really knows how to keep it simple and effective.
