Handbook of Narrative Analysis by Bart Vervaeck, Luc Herman

4.0

Nice read, quite difficult at times. Information density is very high. It seems as if the authors can't quite grasp some of the concepts. The chapter on feminist narratology was quite nonsensical and the paragraph on cybernarratology was beyond the authors.
On the whole a nice overview of narratology, a good primer. It shows both the value and the shortcomings of structuralist and postclassical narratology, seems to favor the latter and is eclectic in the concepts it examines.
