The Hunger Games Tribute Guide by Emily Seife
1.0
Blah-blah-blah. Another title that is set to take the Hunger Games brand and make money off of it. I still go in search of good photos of the tributes' costumes worn in the movie's introduction parade. The only thing this book offered was a brief description of the costumes.
The biggest annoyance with this book was the voice: was it a companion book or faking a program one would buy at an event? It never came down on one side and was just more annoying as it couldn’t decide. It would have been VERY clever to present it as a program.
This book also combined bits from the book with bits from the movie – and failed to note when there was a difference. I’m sorry but this is obviously a companion to the movie – that is where the photos are from so that is what the text should refer to. Only one difference leapt off the page (in reference to how potential tributes lined up prior to selection) but then I also had started reading with a scanning eye as I was feeling cheated.
Speaking of feeling cheated: glad I didn’t buy this book! And I continue to cross my fingers that the Official Illustrated Movie Companion will be similar to the Twilight movie companion books – i.e.: BETTER and offering additional details for the avid fan!
