The Argonauts by Maggie Nelson

4.0

I wish I had the ability to encapsulate this book but I know I can never do it justice and it's so many things. Part memoir, part love story, part identity politics theory, it's like nothing else. As a cisgender woman I have limited personal experience of gender fluidity and this book schooled me. It's deeply personal and Nelson's descriptions of labour and motherhood are astonishing. I've read it twice now and know I'll return to it again.
